Join us for our yearly Farm Store season opener event!

This event will feature live music from local band Greenwood Trio - an acoustic string folk band hailing from St. Louis, MO. Their tunes are lively and fun to groove to and we’re so excited to be able to host them for this event.

Byrdie’s Food Truck will also be onsite, offering a delicious menu with a build-your-own style that caters to virtually any dietary preference.

Every hour, on the hour (weather permitting) we will be hosting farm tours and our farm manager Jeff will be onsite sharing information about the farm, our practices, and showcasing some of the equipment we use to keep the farm running smoothly.

In the FarmStore you will also find samples of local treats and items we carry in the store, like new bakery items, jams, cheeses, and everyone’s favorite hummus.

The nursery will be open with all of our USDA certified organic plants as well! Come grab what you need to get your garden started!

We hope you bring the family out and celebrate the beginning of our season with us!

Sunshine & Soil: The New Gardener's Guide

Join Theodora Farm’s very own Farm Store Manager Allyssa for an hour of all things gardening! In this class you will learn the basics of getting started with home gardening. We will discuss the importance of soil health and where to send your samples for accurate testing, the various types of gardens (in ground, raised beds, containers), and the first steps to getting started, no matter what type of space you have. You’ll get access to handy resources that can help with growing timelines and all attendees will receive a 10% discount code they can utilize at our online plant sale pre-order. We will also cover some other important topics for beginners and allow for open discussion among attendees to share what they’ve learned with each other and foster a sense of community.

About Allyssa: Allyssa has been gardening in various settings and environments for over 10 years, and often joins the crew in the field at Theodora at the start of the season. Her degree in human nutrition is a driving force behind her passion for growing vegetables and utilizing them in the kitchen. She can often be found foraging, ‘hanging out’ with the plants in her garden, and trying (to no avail) to get her herding dog to help manage pests. Some of her favorite crops to grow are: tomatoes, peppers, and medicinal herbs.

Worms at Work:

Build Your Own DIY Worm Bin and Vermicomposting 101

Join us for an exciting workshop where you’ll learn to create your own DIY worm bin! This event is the perfect opportunity to deepen your understanding of vermicomposting and get practical tips on turning your kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost. Don’t miss out on this chance to cultivate your green thumb and contribute to a healthier environment! Whether you are a backyard gardener or a small scale farmer, Ro can show you how to build vermicomposting into your soil health management plan for maximum yield, pest and disease resistance, and water retention at minimal cost.

Ro will have their products available for purchase after the workshop as well!

About Ro:

With a deep passion for farming, gardening, and community building, Ro can be found in many community spaces throughout St. Louis.  Most recently, in November 2023, Ro founded Ro's Wigglers, which finds great satisfaction in helping to spread the word about how beneficial vermicomposting is.  They work to take the guesswork out of worm bins so that interested beginners can take that first step in their journey into the wonderful world of vermicompost!
